Important News from The Nappie Project!

Dear Friends,

We are reaching out to share some amazing news about The Nappie Project and our future “helping little behinds get a little ahead.”

For the last six years so many of you have been on a journey with us, spreading the word about diaper need and ensuring those who need them have access to diapers.

Since 2015, we have raised awareness about diaper need for a growing number of families in Northern Colorado, and just last month we surpassed a major milestone by distributing our 1 millionth diaper. None of these successes would have been possible without your support. We are so grateful for your passion and commitment to see that families have an adequate supply of diapers so their children can remain clean, dry, and healthy.

Despite that passion and our hard work, we have always known that the need surpasses our logistical capabilities. The demand always exceeds supply. That’s why we are exited to share that the Food Bank for Larimer County is acquiring The Nappie Project.
From the beginning, the Food Bank has partnered with The Nappie Project to distribute diapers to families in need. They realized early on that like food, access to diapers and other non-food items helps families live healthier and more fulfilling lives and move toward self-sufficiency. When Covid’s impact created a significant increase in need for diapers, the Food Bank made it possible for us to receive large shipments of diapers–sharing their loading dock with us.  Because of the Food Bank’s existing logistical capabilities, we believe they are best-suited to build on our success and help even more families have access to diapers.

The Nappie Project’s official transition to the Food Bank won’t happen until July 1, and although we have been working together to make the transition a seamless one, there are still some details to be finalized. The Food Bank is currently working on a plan to welcome The Nappie Project volunteers. For our partner agencies, we will be sharing detailed information as it becomes available. Until then, it’s business as usual. In the meantime, if you have any questions about the transition, please reach out to Jan Touslee at [email protected]

In closing, a heartfelt thank you for your support of The Nappie Project-and for helping so many thousands of Little Behinds Get a Little Ahead! What started in a garage as a grassroots effort to help children and families will now have the opportunity to help so many more families in our communities. We can’t wait to see what is next for The Nappie Project.

With gratitude,
